The Story Behind Kid Kalculators
Why a group of Saturday mornings and a whiteboard turned into a growing tutoring initiative.
Kid Kalculators started because a friend of mine hated word problems. That was the whole business plan.
We met on Saturdays with snacks, a whiteboard, and a very short worksheet. The rule was simple: we would explain every step out loud, and no question was silly.
Word of mouth did the rest. Parents asked, siblings joined, and a Saturday circle became a small program. The lesson for me was that community starts with one person feeling less alone with a hard problem.
